How to Start Writing?
The best way to start writing is by getting a pen and paper or getting out your keyboard and just get going. If you have nothing on your mind then start to describe your desk or your wardrobe or what ever is in front of you. If you cannot describe it, start listing attributes about it. What is on it? What color it is it? What it is near? Where it is located in a room?
We've all heard the phrase an object in motion it stays in motion and an object at rest stays at rest. Do not be at rest. Be in motion. Stay in motion.
Have you found yourself not able to clean your bedroom even though it needs to be done just because it was such a mess? Then, when you got started you wanted to do the whole thing. You started to see progress. You became motivated. You wanted to do more.
This same is true when you are writing. Regardless of what your objection it is, the best way to get started on that path is to just start.
For some people, it is easiest to start with an outline of what you need to do. Whether you need to do a research report or write a long story, write out a list of every task you'll need to complete to get the whole writing project done. With that list go through and pick out what you think will be the easiest for you to do whether it be establishing a setting, like a gemstone beads store, or citing three articles to use as a resource. Get that done and you'll have one thing knocked off of your list.
Many people need to write as part of their daily tasks. They may have to write newspaper articles or they may have to write progress reports or they may have to write short stories for school. Writing is a critical part of the lives of many. If you do not start it will complete it.
